Among the standards of synchronized swimming containing in Rules and Regulations on competitions also the technical norms shown to the pool appear. All are obliged to consider and execute them as immutable production requirements participants of design and construction process.

For synchronized swimming in which pass the Olympic Games and the World Cups, and the pool of the same appointment for competitions of lower level, and also for educational and training occupations various characteristics can have the pool.

So, for competitions of the obligatory program for synchronized swimming according to Rules of the International federation of swimming (FINA), 2 zones 10 long and 3 meters wide are used. Each zone settles down near walls of the pool of 10 m in length and no more than 1,5 m from a side. The minimum depth of one of these zones – 3 m, another – 2,5 m. Whereas for free skating of competitions in synchronized swimming the sizes of the minimum zone have to make 12х25 meters with the allocated part of 12х12 meters with a depth not less than 2,5 m. Depth of other zone – at least 1,8 meters. However, with Rules FINNS it is emphasized that zones of carrying out obligatory programs can coincide with zones for free skating.

And here for carrying out any part at the Olympic Games and the synchronized swimming World Cups the pool with the minimum zone of 20х30 meters which part the zone of 12х12 meters with depth 3 meters has to be has to be used. Depth of other zone – not less than 2,5 meters. Deepening with 3rd to 2,5 m has to be at distance of 8 meters. Special requirements are imposed to lighting of the Olympic pool for synchronized swimming competitions – its intensity shouldn't be less than 1500 Lux.

Indoors, where passes synchronized swimming, the pool is equipped with systems of the sound and automatic judicial equipment. The minimum set of the sound equipment consists of the mixing panel with the amplifier, underwater loudspeakers for a uniform sound under water without interruption convenient for hearing of simultaneous interpreters, the safety systems protecting loudspeakers, etc.

The automatic judicial equipment are a part of the system judicial panels (their quantity has to correspond to number of judges), the special device for calculation of the results shown by simultaneous interpreters, with system of record and display (thus it is authorized to use only the programs and systems approved by FINA). Also installation of a board with the computer and the software which has to contain at least 10 lines is provided and display the current time and all written-down information. The recommended board sizes - width of 7,5 meters, height of 3,6 meters. For the guaranteed safety of the equipment systems of grounding are provided.

One of points of the Rules FINA notes that synchronized swimming can take place only in the pool with exclusively transparent water, the bottom of a reservoir has to be looked through well. One more requirement to water – its temperature has to be not lower 26zs (tolerances – a plus-minus 1 degree).
